Really good!

You always hear this cliche about pulling oneself up by ones bootstraps like in a Horatio Alger story, but did you ever read one? Now I have.

As Thomas Nelson makes his way to California during the "Gold rush" he faces lesson on how to conduct one self on the independent journey. In the process he meets vagabonds, adventurers, gentlemen and foriegners alike.

Horacio Alger writes with a divine respect for life. The hero is sometimes niave,

This is an amazing story. Sort of a sudden ending, but still good. The Young Adventurer is intended for youth to read. The moral of the story is: if your do the right thing everything will work out for you.
