A creative work of a great inventor. First underwater mines in the western warfare. However, it's not the first underwater mine in the world. Chinese had made a remotely controlled "Underwater Mine" in 1549. They then made a timed "Underwater Dragon King Mine" in 1590. And, finally a contact trigger
