A novel worthy of broad approval.

A must read for all who love the Lake District, and it's past: a marvellous insight into old Cumbrian life and speech.

The Cumbrian dialect is a hurdle for many to get through this book. It may be a slog to get through the start, it only gains quite a bit of steam 2/3rds of the way through.
