Such a sweet story and loved the drawings can't wait to read it to the Carolina Boys.
cute little christmas story about a mouse who makes her home in a christmas cake shaped like a castle.
I get that this story is a little over 160 years old, but is seems almost like a child wrote it. Cute drawings, but the story lacks substance and theme.
Story Shortened?
Became enthralled with the words and tale, but the story seemed shortened by a few lines on my Kindle version... disappointing.
Sweet little Christmas poem
This is a very simple poem that tells the story of a mouse who takes up residence in a tiny castle decorating a Christmas cake. When discovered, some merriment ensues. This is a sweet palate cleanser between longer, more serious reads. A few nice illustrations, too. Merry
This story is fun and really puts that magical and classical feel to a great Christmas story. I really enjoyed the fun illustrations in this book that seemed to transport the reader back to the time of Dickens and other great writers.

Amusing short poem with old fashioned illustrations. Very well done. One feels sorry for the mouse who got in the Christmas cake.
