Very short, very Balzac, one for the aficionados since it references so many of his recurring characters.
Romance and finance - and social climbing. A very slight tale. An anecdote really. As usual, the financial machinations are impenetrable
A short story requires a very short review/comment. I love Balzac, and if you don't or haven't tried him, this isn't the place to start.
