Making Fate

Pansy

Book Overview:

A group of young adults away on a nutting expedition is delayed in a hospitable home by a sudden rainstorm. After the storm, Marjorie insists that she must get home that night, albeit late, out of respect and care for her mother. Others want to extend the fun and stay away overnight. Ralph, the driver of their wagon and unspoken beau of Marjorie, is swayed by the teasing ridicule of Estelle to refuse to take them home that night. Unknown to the party, unexpected opportunities occur at Ralph's and Estelle's homes that same night, and their delay and subsequent actions profoundly affect the course of all three of their lives.

Making Fate was a surprise to me. I had read several synopsis and some reviews. After reading the story, I was truly pleasantly surprised. While this title is thought of as Marjorie Edmonds' story, I actually found Ralph Bramlett's little sister, Glyde, far more interesting. LOL Glyde, who her Uncle

I like all of Isabella Alden's books. In real life, she must have been a keen and very wise judge of character, and it shows in her stories. This book was very enjoyable. I especially liked Mr. Maxwell. I hope to read more about him and his developing relationship with Marjorie in the sequel.

I enjoyed this story about young sweethearts Marjorie and Ralph. They take for granted they will marry one day until they each begin to experience different life lessons. While Marjorie is open to following where God leads her, Ralph dwells on his belief that he has not had opportunities in his life
