Amusing short novel from 1898 about a young man who becomes enamored of a woman who craves adventure and notoriety. He comes up with the idea of having a wedding inside a lion's cage, and she agrees to marry him, excited about the publicity more than the marriage. Things go delightfully awry. Never

This little novella by F. Anstey has none of his usual fantasy and isn't particularly funny rather it's just a rather long shaggy dog story about a couple who for reasons of publicity decide to get married in the circus lions cage.
