Pixie herself needs a happily ever after, to complete the series! There's a bit of confusion at first as to who exactly that was going to be, but I'm so glad it went that way in the end. We're left just with Pat and Miles unknown, but that's alright because they never really figured into my favorite

I think it is worth noting that Mrs. G de HV returns to finish the saga more than ten years after the second volume and she has written a much in the interim so it is a different sort of book where Pixie ultimately finds her ever after. While on the face of it that's what this volume is and might be

Again, the prejudices were irritating, moral messages too obvious, but I don't regret listening to this. O’Shaughnessy’s family had its own charm.
