I've classified this book as fiction, because it reads as a story about a group of light house keepers on Carys' Ledge off the coast of Maine back in the late 1800s, but the book, originally published in 1905, includes a lot of factual material, including stories of other light houses and the "rules

I was sad that I finished this. The ending was disappointing but it was great to read about light keepers and the things they did in their duties.
