This was an interesting book about an Knight and the meaning of Melice is Honey Bee. He was a friend of savages and was an emissary between the colonists and the indians, but the colonists turned on the Knight when they thought he was Catholic. Written in the 1850's, this novel undoubtedly has historical significance. However in, I suppose, an attempt at authenticity, Adams wrote his dialogue to simulate Puritan New England

One of the very few older works which I did not finish.

The introduction giving some history leading up to the time of the novel is overly long, overly florid and overly tedious. The most important point of which is don't judge people of a past age by the standards of the current age. The history als
