My second of the Berry series and much better than the patchy first novel, which is only a collection of short stories. Here all the stories are linked through the simple but effective device of an extended Winter vacation in France. Falling somewhere between Waugh and Wodehouse, this is delightful

This story was not as exciting a tale as I have enjoyed from Dornford Yates previously. It was still entertaining however the story centered more on the characters holiday rather than adventures. I was disappointed with the ending, it seemed abrupt and didn't fully explain several situations.
