شاب رسام فقير يلتقى بأسرة اقطاعية متوسطة و حوارات عن حل مشاكل المجتمع هل يكون بانشاء مؤسسات خدمية لتسهيل أعباء الحياة أم بتحرير الانسان من ذل العمل أو توزيع العمل بعدالة على الجميع
نقاشات رائعة لمشاكل المجتمع الروسي في ذلك الوقت، شاب رسّام يترك الرسم لانه رفاهية زائدة للاغنياء الذين يستغلون الفقراء.
وانا انشاء المراكز الصحية والصيدليات والمدارس للفقراء يعتبره بطل القصة من أساليب الاستغلال للفقراء والحل يكون بالحرية وتوزيع الثروات .
اختلاف وجهات النظر يؤدي الى تفريق حبيبين .
