Jacob Abbott wrote a series of histories of great historical figures around the turn of the 20th century. This one, about Julius Caesar is one of the best. Though written roughly 100 years ago, it was still an excellent overview of Caesar's life and times. I was already somewhat familiar with his history, but this book went into more detail in areas I wasn't as familiar by highlighting major events...more

great easy to read biography of fascinating man

It is a short book about a great man. I enjoyed the reading and lessons learned from it. I do recommend it!

Made me want to read Caesar's work on the Gallic wars.

Dry but thorough. Easy read, maybe junior high level.
