A too hasty express wagon, however, heedless of the convenience of wealthy automobilists, bore down on Carshaw like a Juggernaut car, and straightway smashed the differential, besides inflicting other grievous injuries on a complex mechanism. A policeman, the proprietor of a neighboring garage, and a greatly interested crowd provided an impromptu jury for the dispute between Carshaw and the express man.

The latter put up a poor case. It consisted almost entirely of the bitter and oft-repeated plaint:

“What was a car like that doin’ here, anyhow?”

Novela sencilla, corta, trepidante en algunos momentos en la que a falta de 3 capítulos para el final ya queda resuelta sin mas pena que gloria.

Entretenida sin más. Con ganas de acabarla para dedicarme a otro libro.

La trama resulta embelesadora, el misterio a resolver no se ve venir por ningún lado y hace que leas con curiosidad y ganas por saber un poco más, sorprende en más de una ocasión y ha conseguido que mi ritmo lector no decayese sino que se mantuviese con ganas de seguir leyendo y alerta a algún descu

Lo más interesante de este libro es que el lector comienza pensando que es un misterio clásico a lo Agatha Christie, luego se convierte en una película en blanco y negro de mucha tensión, y luego ya uno no sabe a qué atenerse pues la trama vuelve a cambiar. I don't typically read mysteries from this period buy this one was interesting and had enough complication without being overly bogged down.
