An enjoyable enough little read, but I’m very confused as to what the plot was. Seeing it described on this site (I was reading a copy from 1927, so there was no synopsis.), I think I can appreciate more what it was trying to do, but I was confused the entire time I was reading.

The review from "gwan" may put you off. It gives a very bleak picture indeed. So bleak as to be quite misleading.
