Episode 101: She's Running

In the second installment of our series on women running for office, we hear from first time candidates. Laura Moser is entering the race for Texas's 7th Congressional district. Molly Sheehan is award-winning scientist with a PhD in biochemistry and biophysics running for Congress in Pennsylvania's 7th district. And yet, so much change is local. We hear from Erica Mauter who started running for a City Council seat in Minneapolis when she realized the candidate she wanted to see was a person with her skills and energy. Tell us about the first-time women candidates you're supporting with #CYGruns.

Episode 97: The Pursuit of Female Pleasure

Two books all about women & pleasure: from a political stance, Jill Filipovic and Amina discuss how a feminist rewrite of policy would center women's happiness, not merely struggling toward equality in a white male driven world. Then, Ann talks with writer Chris Kraus, whose work is about so much more than "I Love Dick," including an exploration of class and race on the border in the Bush years, and her forthcoming biography of writer, artist and self-proclaimed It Girl Kathy Acker.

Episode 96: See You on the Ballot

Have you ever considered running for office? Do you know a friend who should? In the first of a two-part special, we're talking about building the infrastructure to encourage women to enter all sorts of races: Congress, yes, but also your city council or school board. We hear from Stephanie Schriock of EMILYs List about the 10k+ women (!) who have expressed interest in running since the 2016 election. And from Amanda Litman of Run for Something, which encourages young people to get involved in politics. Plus, Ann & Amina weigh in on their own political ambitions.
