Spinning Wheel Stories was a brief, enjoyable respite from the last few books I've read lately. It's restorative to take a journey back to a very different time in our country. (the copy I have was written in 1884 and this version was published in 1908). A group of children are trapped by a storm at

Filled with her usual charm.

The stories were mildly interesting. Good for a session of reading at a time. The most interesting aspect for me was the pictures into life during the 1800s.

Spinning-Wheel Stories is a collection of short stories. I liked some aspects of the stories and disliked others. I felt like some of the themes were very forward-thinking considering when the stories were written. Many of the female characters have a lot of strength and bravery, which was refreshin

A delightful collection of short stories!

A delightful collection of tales from the author of Little Women. Some of them may seem quite dated in their outlook now, but I suspect the views on women in particular were quite advanced for the time.

classical uplifting Alcott tales

Wonderful little stories

I quickly found myself drawn into the story, transported back in time to sit with the children and listen to Granny's stories in that cozy sitting room. I strongly recommend this book to all who enjoy reading stories to children.
