It's a two-star effort, really. Despite his ghost stories being universally marketed - back in the day - as non-fiction, O'Donnell never really puts much of an effort into making his tall tales believable. And the style... isn't exactly literary:

Interesting, decent read. Old stories from England and Wales

Not the usual collection of ghost stories. Bits and pieces, sometimes without an ending. But creepy, nonetheless. British ghosts seem to be very smelly; several here are the focus of some nasty odors. Also, a number of the ghosts appear as decaying corpses. This book isn't for the sensitive reader (
