Too much waxing eloquent

The author sometimes used several page to describe a scene, a person, or thought, something I might expect with an essay rather than in a book of fiction. This tended to lead me off topic and lose concentration.

Romance with Murder Intrigue

This story is slow in getting going but picks up speed halfway through. If you can wade thru the first the mystery unfolds with some great action.
