Intriguing Novel ......

I have read quite a few Stacpoole novels in my readings. The Pearl Fishers was an interesting novel and I would recommend the book.
In my opinion, there are better books by Stacpoole, then, on the other hand, there are those that just do not measure-up to the quality that Stacp

This was almost too exciting. I should have trusted the author to make sure that justice was done in the end. As always, the descriptions are beyond lush, the love story just the right side of exploitative, and the villains are rounded. There's something of Joseph Conrad in this one, a Joseph Conrad

This was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed it even more in some ways than The Man Who Lost Himself.

I can't think of anyone who paints a picture of remote island life quite like Stacpoole. This one really struck my fancy. Who wouldn't love to bask in the fangipani scented breeze and feel the sun toasting you a golden brown? (Ok the golden brown is a real dream here. Lobster red is more like it). O
