I read this book years ago. I look at it as a foundational manual for a variety of other subjects that require the proper sensitivity and cognition to address.
Written when humans roamed the Earth.
Westermarck comes in two volumes and 1500 pages. After an introductory discussion of his moral theory, the bulk of his work is a survey of moral practices. Though the relationship between theory and these practices is not so clear, the survey itself is an impressive collection of cross-cultural mora
