Volumns 1 through 3. I really like M E Braddon's books because I can usually tell what is going to happen within the first 3 chapters of a book. Ms Braddon's books are always different from what I expect in romance books. This book is romance, mystery,murder, christian and the best part lost love. T
Great work of tragedy. The cruelest romance I’ve ever read. From the beginning the author was contriving new ways to separate the two main characters in this book. There was a romance in the beginning but it all went down hill from there and there is no happy ending.
Reviewing all 3 Volumes, because they do not stand alone. Rather slow moving, even for Braddon. Christabel, a beautiful young heiress, has been brought up properly by her wealthy aunt.
