Unlike Not Quite Eighteen (16 stories) or A Round Dozen (13 stories), Just Sixteen manages to have exactly as many stories as the title says.

Nice and homey

This is my second book. I like just it as a first one. It was warm and easy to read after a long day.

A rather uneven story collection. Favorite story, "A Little Knight of Labor" (impoverished genteel woman shocks relatives but finds contentment by becoming a housekeeper). Another old-fashioned book from 'What Katy did' and 'What Katy did at school'. Made up of short stories, its innocence and purity will appeal to children.
