I have previously read a 1733 edition of Voltaire's The History of Charles XII. King of Sweden, and enjoyed it immensely so when I stumbled upon a 1769 edition of History of the Russian Empire Under Peter the Great my interest was very much piqued.

The 1769 edition contains both Parts I & II together

I read this as research for a novel I was writing. A first hand telling of the remarkable life of Peter the Great of Russia. I was pleasantly surprised that it was easy to read and inspiring. A great addition to the research I required.
