An interesting read and I will definitely be reading more by Grant Allen. He's not up there with the greats like H Rider Haggard, Conan Doyle etc. but it was still a good read very heavily laden with the attitudes, prejudices and social hangups of the time. But that's part of what makes reading thes
A good read if you like late nineteenth century south seas adventure novels. Contains the racism and sexism inherent at the time, of course, along with the dismissal of non-Christian religion.
