Georgina did skip, so light of foot and quick of movement that she was in the lead all the way to the Green Stairs. There she paused and waited for Richard to join her. Annie Fellows Johnston is best known for the Little Colonel books, which Shirley Temple immortalized in movie form. I ran across this little gem years ago, in a used-bookstore in Maryland. I knew about the Little Colonel from book-heroines who read the stories, so took a chance. I loved it! Georgina
