I really loved this small book. I am aware it is outdated and probably considered sappy, but it had delightful characters. I would have enjoyed reading many more.

I read this book because this was one of the novels that Sinclair Lewis was reacting to when he wrote Main Street. It’s sweet and idealized and told almost entirely from women’s perspectives.
