The Four Horseman of the Apocalpyse has turned up on best books lists. I picked it up after reading and liking Edna Ferber's So Big, which won the 1925 Pulitzer Prize for best novel. The Four Horsemen took me a while to read due to its slow pace.
I particularly recommend this book for history fans. I
