If you enjoy reading golden-age mysteries you may enjoy this book.
Just like any other golden-age mystery, the book brings the reader in another time-zone, where there are no cell-phones, computer, airplanes, ...
It's a nicely written mystery, although indeed a bit over-romantic.
There seem to be many suspects when wealthy heiress Lucy Carrington is found dead one morning. When the police cannot find the guilty party Fleming Stone is called in.
An interesting mystery with Stone being more central to the story than previous ones. I realised who the guilty party was earlier on
Carolyn Wells wrote cozy mysteries before we had a category for them. The first impression these books makes is their readability, coming from an earlier day. A wonderful mystery abound with twists and turns on every corner. I literary couldn't put the books down!
I love mysteries and this plot was brilliant. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and will be looking for more. Who murdered Lucy? The twists and turns will have you quickly flipping those pages. Highly recommend and love Fleming Stone.
