These tales from yesteryear are written in a different style from today's writing. I have been reading stories from this collection whenever I'm in a bad mood and it has done it a good swing. It is one of most awesome selection of children stories and contains some of very best of Anderson.

Some of the stories were a bit strange - like the one about the snails and the swallow. It didn't really have a point.

Lots of strong moral and religious messages.
