I am fascinated by the time frame of WWI. This book was both written & set in that time. The country had mining strikes during those years (as well as during WWII). That fact forms the basis of the plot. I was expecting this book to be about young kids from the title, but they were young adul...more

This really is very dull stuff, and the Boy Scouts turn out to be the heroes of the story. The girls don't seem to do anything much at all, although the story is focussed on them. Anyhow, dull is useful when you're trying to fall asleep, and in that regard this book really hit the mark
