Before you go any farther, please understand that this book was written in 1919, before the idea of a book "romance" meaning relationships and love and sex. It is not that type of romance. This is a romance in the sense of the old French term "roman" meaning simply a fictional tale as opposed to non

I'd give it ten stars if I could. One of the most wonderful books I have ever read. The section where Raft finds Cleo and saves her life is just magic. I can't recommend this enough.

I love this story! A wealthy young woman, being courted by a prince, ends up marooned on a wild and dangerous island, populated only by sea lions, penguins, and scavenger birds. Using her wits, along with some helpful stores from her life boat, as well as some life-preserving items buried and marked

This author is amazing. "Beach Of Dreams" is my second book by Stacpoole (the first being "The Man Who Lost Himself") and it is very, very good. Don't let the title mislead you. This isn't some kind of island holiday where romance ensues while people sun themselves and drink tequilas. Thank
