Very witty and amusing. What excellent prose. The first of Balzac's writings I've read. The most effective writer to date, in my experience, who has led me into certain mindsets indicative of this time.

Mainly an interesting conversation between a large number of Balzac's repertory characters on the subject of the perfect woman. Although it degenerates into reminiscences, it is yet another interesting fragment which its author probably considered for inclusion of a work yet to be written.
