Book Overview:

On a planet called GuckGuck, only three light-years away from Earth, a little purple alien named Bix decides to visit Earth to learn about Christmas on the eve of his planet's own wretched holiday, Punch-In-The-Face-Mas. When his spaceship crash lands in the skating rink of Chicago's Millennium Park on Christmas Eve, he meets a twelve year-old girl named Tab, who's obsessed with a series of Sci-Fi books she believes as fact. When Tab and Bix are kidnapped by a secret agency, they discover that GuckGuck is in danger of being destroyed by aliens offended by Punch-In-The-Face-Mas. With help from Tab's deep knowledge of Christmas and Science Fiction, Bix fights to keep his family and friends from immanent explosion.

Book Excerpt:
. . .With a loud sound similar to the scream of a petrified hairdryer, the spaceship’s engine let out a few boosts, turning the bottom of the ship toward the earth. A few seconds later, Bix was diving through earth’s atmosphere at the speed of you-will-probably-die-you-are-going-so-very-very-fast miles per hour.

Bix double checked the speedometer. “Spaceship, why are we going so fast?”

“No reason,” the Spaceship snapped in defense.

“Oh, okay…it just seems like we should be going a little slower.” Bix looked out the observation window. All he could see was a layer of fire wrapping around the dome.
