Another Golden Age mystery that is OK.
The female lead is a bit annoying. There was a side mystery that was not solved in a satisfactory way. But the detective and the murder mystery were enjoyable.

Rather good early 20th Victorian mystery. But why do all these books have hammy heroines?

A fun read for anyone who enjoys a good period mystery. Detective Gimlet is like a "more human" Sherlock Holmes. Lots of drama, romance, and suspense!
